What Causes Droopy Eyelids?

Droopy eyelids can be caused by a variety of things, including aging, genetics, medical conditions, or surgery. The medical term form this is called Blepharoptosis. The upper-lids droop, making eyes look smaller and appear more tired. Severe Blepharoptosis can even interfere with sight lines and overall function of the eyes.

UPNEEQ is a prescription eye drop that can temporarily improve droopy eyelids. With a single daily dose, patients see an average of 1mm of lift in their upper eyelid- just enough to make a noticeable difference. While it may not give the same dramatic results as surgery, it is a more affordable and less invasive option.

How does Upneeq work?

Upneeq is a once a day application per eye. The active ingredient is oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution), 0.1% which triggers the levator palpebrae muscle, also know as the Mueller’s Muscle, causing contraction and raising the upper eyelid.

On average, treatments result in a 1mm lift. While this is not as dramatic as a Blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift surgery, it was reported by patients to be both cosmetically and medically beneficial.
