restylane filler aftercare

[fusion_dropcap class="fusion-content-tb-dropcap"]D[/fusion_dropcap]id you know that the value of the beauty industry is more than 500 billion USD?

While there are many ways people can beautify themselves such as with facelifts and makeup, fillers such as Restylane fillers are becoming more and more popular due to their promising results.

But the mistake many people make when getting these fillers is that, while they might be prepared for the Restylane filler itself, they may not be prepared for the Restylane filler aftercare process.

If you want to know more about the process of getting Restylane and how to recover afterward, keep reading more below.

Understanding the Restylane Filler Procedure

In the past, doctors would often use silicone fillers to inject into patients. Silicone fillers are permanent. While that may sound like a good thing, silicone fillers can often harden over time and look unnatural under the skin.

Today, doctors primarily use hyaluronic acid fillers including Restylane lip filler and Restylane under-eye filler.

The great thing about hyaluronic acid fillers is that they don’t often interact badly with the body because the body itself also produces hyaluronic acid.

The only downside is that hyaluronic acid fillers don’t last forever because the body will eventually break down and absorb the filler. However, there’s nothing stopping you from getting more of the same filler in the same spot if you liked the results the first time.

Restylane cheek filler is a popular choice, although you may also get this filler in your lips and around your mouth. When you go in for this procedure, your doctor will provide you with local anesthesia so you won’t feel the prick of the needle when it’s time to inject the filler.

You will be able to see your results as soon as your doctor injects the fillers.

Restylane Filler Under Eyes

The fillers are designed to fill out any creases or wrinkles you may have on your skin. For example, the nasolabial folds are often filled with Restylane since they can get quite deep with age and make people look older than they are.

Hyaluronic acid fillers work especially well for making skin look younger because they attract water and can make your skin look plumper.

For the procedure, your doctor will decide if one or more sites for injection are necessary. Your doctor might also determine how much Restylane filler you might need.

Restylane Filler Healing and Aftercare

Many people get so excited about getting Restylane fillers that they forget to read up about filler Restylane filler recovery. However, the recovery process is arguably as important, if not more important, than getting the fillers in the first place.

That’s because if the fillers don’t heal correctly, your results might not be the results that you had hoped for.

When you get your fillers for the first time, your doctor will clean the injection sites with an antiseptic. This is important as it will help prevent any infections from taking hold.

However, you will also need to keep your injection sites clean to avoid infections as you continue to heal.

In the hour after you get your injections, you may be tempted to scratch at the injection sites since they may feel warm or itchy.

However, you should avoid doing this since scratching the site may irritate it. Also, you might introduce bacteria from under your nails into your injection sites which might promote the development of an infection.

You may find yourself experiencing some redness, bruising, and swelling. You should avoid massaging any swelling or touching your face at all. After a few days, these side effects should go away on their own.

Lip Filler

If they don’t, you should contact your doctor as you might have an infection. A few hours after your treatment (and before your treatment) you should avoid the consumption of alcohol.

This is because alcohol might contribute to worse bruising around the sites of the injections.

You should also avoid exercising and hot weather or saunas. Sweat contains bacteria that may infect your injection sites.

After a few days, you should be able to resume these activities.

Restylane Filler Aftercare Tips

The healing process takes between 3 and 7 days. As you are healing, you should only use a gentle cleanser to wash your face.

You should avoid any cleansers or masks that have harsh chemicals. These chemicals may irritate your injection sites.

You should also stay away from any cleansers or skincare products that are meant for exfoliation. Exfoliation may also make your skin more sensitive and irritated during your healing process. However, you are free to use sunscreen and makeup.

To ensure that your fillers heal and settle as they should, you should avoid moving the injection site too much. For example, if you got your lips injected, you should avoid pursing your lips.

You should also avoid putting any pressure on your lips, drinking through straws, and kissing.

All of these actions might dislodge your fillers before they have the chance to heal and settle. You should be able to see your final results within a week or two.

Once your fillers are healed, they should last you between one or two years, although they may last as little as 6 months in some cases.
